The Uzbek national ensemble “Mumtoz” was established under the leadership of the People’s Artist of Uzbekistan O’lmas Saidjonov in the directorate of academic folk art collectives after named M.Yakubov in 1995. The main purpose of establishing ensemble is to collect, study and reproduct the forgotten folk songs and inform about them to the future generations by performing. It is also a methodological basis for the development of traditional and folk song art by preserving the immortal heritage of folk musicians and artists who have lived and worked in the distant past.
Since the foundation of the ensemble it has been actively promoting Uzbek national song art. The ensemble has achieved great success in the concert programs in several foreign countries such as France, Germany, Belgium, Turkey, Japan, China and others. Creative community is one of the active participant of the state events dedicated to the Independence Day of Uzbekistan, Navruz national holiday and state reception ceremonies.
The ensemble is a permanent participant of the international music festivals in Samarkand such as “Sharq taronalari” and “Bahor nafasi”. In the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan all singers and musicians of the ensemble have their own works. It is clear that the creative team works in different directions for the purpose of promoting the national folk songs to their fans.
